Now I wonder if HP didn't just give the reviewers some souped up machines.
I have had this machine for a couple of days and couldn't believe how really bad it is. It is far slower than my current notebook which cost far less, is five years old, and has a duo-core processor. It's unstable performance is also a problem. This machine delivers extremely slow and unstable performance when using yahoo and gmail email with any browser.
I noticed that a major portion of the problem seemed to come from a memory hogging HP Security Tools package which I uninstalled with a couple of hours of work (it took a while to figure out what was what). Then, the machine was not loaded which Service Pack 1 for Windows 7.
The touch pad on the machine is lousy too. All in all, I would not recommend this machine at this time. HP has some work to do.
